I'm nervous. I never ran this distance before and this is hilly. It's supposed to be a tough rolling hills course.
It's the first step into the Queens Grand Prix so there you go.
Saturday morning, Elizabeth wakes up at 5:30 am and tells me that she heard that some people swear by running in the morning. I told her to go for it if she wants. She ended up running to her parents and back for a distance of approx. 2.8 miles. Saturday night she tells me that she is thinking of running the 5 miler. Crazy but ok.
She did it. I did it. It was very hilly. I'm running and suddenly I see Bell Blvd., then I see Cunningham park and the realization that I still gotta run back hits me. At mile 3.5, up the hill, I started walking. I took 6 steps and yelled out "NO!". I then started running. This happened 2 more times but then I got my wind and I did it.
The joke of it all is I got 2nd place for age and Elizabeth came in 4th for her age group.
