Alley Pond 5 Mile Challenge!

Our race. Alley Pond. Gotta love it. The whole winter my guys were missing and I feel slower. My 1/2 marathons show it too. Just gotta take it easy.

The weather was beautiful for the kids races. Got hotter still. Too hot for the 5 miler. Lee and I were pre-registered. The kids were not. Jeremy was happy-happy because he got nin number 212. He said that he won the raffles last year with 212 and it's a lucky number. More on this later.

I ran a decent race. Little slower than usual tho. Coming back into Alley, I saw a man down getting help from EMS. I had trouble pushing on the way back. At the finish line, EMS were trying to convince a woman to get on a strecher. About 20-30 feet from the finish, a woman stopped running, vomitted and walked to the finish.

I didn't see the kids when I got in so I went to get Lee. Turned out I got there faster than the kids expected and they worried about my knee. Thursday before the race, I sat down on the floor to pet LC and my knee went OUCH. RICE and all that and nothing.

Jeremy wanted to stay for the raffles because of his lucky number. Last year we all won the raffles. This year he was the only 1 who did from the Hirsch family. He got a $ 25.00 gift certificate to a fish restaurant in Freeport. YUMMY!
