The last step into the Queens Grand Prix for us. Cool!

I hurt my knee badly during the Staten Island tri. Lasted at least a week. Then, I woke up with a bad calf cramp on sunday. Nothing is gonna be easy.

A crazy day. Today was birthday party number 2 for Jeremy with some of the family. Party 3 and 4 yet to come. Everything had to go according to schedule.

I saw John Sassone there streching and asked him about the course. I knew it was hilly. He said, that it was very hilly but save your strength because the last mile was all up hill and HARD. I asked the announcer/race director the same question and he told me a little. When I questioned him about this all up hill for the last mile, he smiled and walked away. Not even a "NO COMMENT!".

It started ok, in the park. Very soon we were on 213 st and close the Cross Island PKWY. It seemed like we were about to go on the Cross Island but then through the grass we went and into the park. Before I knew it, we were cross country, in the forest, jumping over tree logs and stumps which I guess were like steps.

It was hot and humid, hilly and hard. At one point, almost at the end I ran next to a 15 year old who felt bad. During the last 200 meters he decided to shake me, looks bad to comein with me. I decided to chase him. He saw me and ran harder, which caused me to chase him harder. I came in 10 feet behind him. I wished him luck and told him I had to make him run a little. We both laughed.

All in all a good hard day. Lee came in first for age. Cool!
