back...

The race started 30 minutes late but everything seemed ok. Beautiful day, not to hot. The swim seemed hard. The water was cold even though the wet suit. Everytime the cold water hit my face I gasped, at least in the beginning. Later it turned out, this was my best swim ever.

I got to T1 and was not able to get my wetsuit off. I think it got stuck on my chip. Took a little time but went out on the bike. This year I decided to bring a 2nd bottle to drink during the transition times (Remember this for later).

Anyway, went out the bike and approached the first turn. I know to drink so this was a good time to drink. I already finished a power bar. Anyway, I drank and dropped my bottle.

I noticed that during the bike, my seat is not the most comfortable, so I bought a gel seat cover. I know the rule never try something new on race day but I felt comfortable doing this. Anyway, here it comes. At the end of the bike , about 300 feet from finish line, the cover fell and got stuck in my chain. I got off the bike and asked the marshalls for a knife. I even asked a cop for a knife. Anyway, I somehow managed to get it out and continued.

Well, nothing else could go wrong, there is only the run left. During the run, I wanted to wipe the seat from my forehead. As I did, I felt the lens from my sunglasses start to fall. I caught it and was gonna put it together when the whole sunglasses broke in half.

Ach....At this point I was afraid to drive home ; I figured there would be a 20 car pileup and I would be in the middle of it.

Anyway, now I cannot find my results on the web page. I did have fun though and that is all that counts.
