Mini Mighty Man Triathlon

Course Description:

A true time trial event: Each athlete will start individually, 10 seconds apart.

Swim 400 meters in the pool. You will be swimming 8 lengths of 50 meters each. You will "snake" your way through 4 lanes (down and back in each). Upon finishing the swim you will come out of the pool and proceed to the bike transition area. You will be seeded by your 400 current best time indicated in your application. This way there will be a minimum of passing other swimmers.

No fins, wetsuits or buoys allowed.

Bike 6 miles on park road (riding three 2 mile loops). Upon mounting your bike you will ride out to the park road and ride 3 loops of the course (which is closed to vehicle traffic). All types of bikes allowed: Road bike, time trial, mountain bike, hybrid or beach cruiser.

Run 2 miles in the park (running two 1 mile loops) After racking bike you will proceed out of the transition area and start the run. The finish will be next to the transition area.

Interesting day. Lots of stuff. The pool area was beautyful but a little stressing. I passed about 3 or 4 people and got passed by one. At one point, I could not pass a guy and had to tread water after him for about 20 yards before I passed. It was nice that since it was indoors, I saw and heard Jeremy and Jessie cheering me on. The bike was very windy and annoying. The run also was windy and seemed VERY short. The confusing part on the run was that there was also a run sharing the road. I had a guy direct me but still almost got lost.

Now, for the Olympic Hopefuls...My Mom, part nerves - part not having her glasses on, made a silly. When she jumped in, she did not realize that it was 17 feet deep, SO she went all the way down. She touched bottom and kicked up. She panicked and ran out air and opened her mouth. She drank a lot. After that she was only able to finish a 100 meters (1/4) and they needed 3 lifeguards to get her out. EMS showed up and eventually she was fine.
