I found this link and this link on mapmyrun.com. They map the run nicely.

Elevation Map

It was the four of us: Len, Francois, Jim and me. All meeting at my house. I knew Jim would be there on time at 6 but wasn't sure about the rest. Worried about nothing. They all got there on time. Lee got there with LC. We left on time. Good because I wanted to get to the Verazanno Bridge, lower level before they close it. They guys didn't believe me but even though we made good time the lower level was closed. Still, got over the bridge and Jim kinda went through the barricades after the tolls to get to Bay street.

Got to race start and started looking for a parking spot. Small streets and everyone is parked. We were following a guy till we got to the end of the street. Had to make a left going downhill. The guy in front of us reversed up the hill to get into a spot, smiling. We went down the hill wishing him luck when we found a spot. A spot large enough for the huge Ford Explorer SUV. Imagine that. Lot of back and forth and NYC parking but Jim did it. Got in with a little of the car on the curb. Once we parked, that guy drove past us. Guess his spot wasn't.

Chilly day in the shade, pleasant in the sun. Walked up and down the boardwalk to warm up.

The nice thing about this race is that it's mostly out and back. NYRR actually does this one well. In certain places they have fluid stations on both sides of the street. That means that instead of getting mauled trying to get served water, you can just go to the other side of the street and grab it yourself.

Most of the course is nice except for 2 miles near the sanitation area going out and back. The rest was nice. Neighbors nice too.

Jim hoped for a sub 1:35 - did 1:37. Not a PR but a good time. Len had a good day. Francois with all the complaining did 1:29:xx. He was flying, PR and all.

I tried to push it at the end and did. I hoped my guys would run me in but nope. Still went faster at the end. My only complaint about this race is at the end you have a 180 degree turn into the parking lot/finish area. This is around 12.5. The problem is you run and the finish line just does not show up. Finally mile 13 shows up and the finish. Otherwise nice race.
