Bunch of email exchange with Andre yesterday. Things are going to have to change next season.
Let's see.....

Just got the cue sheet for the 2006 Gold Coast Century. I don't recognize most of the streets. I do recognize some of the hills tho! OMG! To be expected I guess. The cue sheet is going to be in the Gold Coast files soon.

06/02/2009:

Just signed up for the other Century ride. This year I will be also doing the NYC Century Bike Tour. Starts and ends in Central Park.

Last nights swim was interesting. Andre basically had us do 500. I hate 500's. Still the mainset was 2500 yard and I got there late and, well, I had a lot to do by myself. I never usually get to warm up but he actually listed the warmup too which included drills so I did that too. I have been swimming 3000's but lastnight ended up being 3800. The most I have done is over 4000 but that was a while ago. Lastnight brought up a very BIG issue. Hunger. Swimming makes you hungry. I didn't forget that. I just didn't remember/realize how hungry you get, the longer the distance. I was starved. Also, I decided to run right afterwards since I did not run tuesday. In total, lastnight was 3800 in pool followed by 2 * 1 mile repeats at 8.5MPH (7.03/minute). Starving is an understatement. By next year I need to figure out how I am going to bike 112 miles right after I swim. During the bike, I think I can eat for the run. I have done that. But...I gotta be able to eat for after the swim and for after the bike. Gotta think this through.

Andre sent this yesterday...To train for an IM, you need:
1) 2-3 centuries minimum with 20-30 minute runs afterwards
2) 2-3 bricks with 70-80 mile rides/13-15 mile runs
3) 2-3 sets of 65/75/85 mile efforts (as build ups to your
centuries)
4) 5000' yard workouts once a week for approx. 5-8 weeks -
and the build up to that distance in the preceding weeks.
5) And your usual long distance training regimen...but increased
to 4+ hr runs...

So, I'm driving Andre nuts with questions. I guess, I just want to know what I am heading into. Yes it's obsessive but "chance favors the prepared mind"....Right? So here's the swim workout for next wednesday. It's a whopper...
Warmup:
300' - 150'swim/150' pull - choice strokes
5x100' - 25' drill/25' swim - 10-15 sec. rest

Repeat 2x:
400 on 7:30 - every 4th lap do 1/2 lap head up
2x300' on 5:00
3x200' on 3:30
5x100' on 1:45
Take 1:15 break to eat gu/power bar and then restart set.

300' warm down

07/02/2009:

So I never did the swim. The L.I Gold Coast Triathlon and the Adventure race showed up. At this point, I am back to doing 3000 on the swim.

11/08/2009:

Erik just did Ironman Florida. This is the training plan he used. Maybe I can use or bastardize for my own.

11/19/2009:

They just posted the following message: "The IDT will be taking a sabbatical in 2010. Please check back with us in September of 2010 to see our plans for a bigger and better IDT in 2011."

Damn it. Really looking forward to this. Looks like I will be doing a different IM. Going to use this as a starting point for both IM's.
