It was a HOT and MISERABLE day. The race started at 9am (thank God) but it was already in the 90's and climbing. Humidity was bad and it was hard to breathe. Lee and I went to the race without the kids.
I liked the fact that we were there the week before scoping out the course. They changed it and we knew what to expect. Still, the weather sucked. I was surprised that Hillel dropped so fast this year but he came back about 2 miles in and I was not able to catch him.
At about mile 2.5, I wasn't sure whether I would throw up immediatly or after I finished. I didn't but it was a real possibility.
The plan was to run the 5K twice and then go bike riding. I just could not go. I looked to Gerry knowing he would be the only one willing but he said, "What are you smoking? Didn't wanna be here in the first place. You crazy"
Well, I didn't go again. I did go biking. Did 53.90 miles on the bike. Ran out of water, begged for some, ran out again. Found a sprinkler and refilled and still came home empty. I didn't pee for 7+ hours. Hard day....
