Run For Israel 5K!

These guys always have good weather. Amazing. Same course, same people, same race. We had up to 80 degrees and a little humid.

During the race, this guy and I kept trading places. On the up's and down's I took him and on the flats he attacked. Whenever he attacked, I attacked back. I think at one point he actually led for a little bit but then the hills kept coming.

At the park was the last time he attacked and I took him. Leaving the park, I kept my eye on him but he faltered. I caught up to some kid and I was sure he was gonna use that youthful zest thing. At the 3 mile mark he asked me how we were doing and I told him. I then attacked knowing he would counter but he didn't and that was that.

Lee ran with George and they both did much better for it. She told me she would have slowed down except she did not want to lose him....

No raffles prizes this year but everyone came back with something. Kids got 2 medals, Lee took 2nd place and I took 3rd.

I then went biking for 17+ miles into that damn wind.

A few days later, I googled the race and got a hit of someones blog. I went to read it and it was a guy mentioning how he had a bad run before the race and shin splints and all but still did the race. Also, he mentioned that last year he got bounced of 3rd place for his age group by a guy who beat him by 12 seconds. He also mentioned that this year he was surprised because the splits were good. Not giving up and having last year repeat he pushed and made second place pushing the next guy to 3rd by 12 seconds. Turned out it was me who pushed him out last year by 12 seconds and who he pushed me out of 2nd place by 12 seconds this year.
