So, my plan was that I would get there first, do the tri and run some extra. Needed to do about 16 miles. Lee told me that ain't happening. My guys would be coming with me and that I would NOT be running extra.

Got up early and got ready. Stomach not feeling 100%. What are you gonna do? At about 5:40, the heavens opened up. Bad storm, thunder and lighting. The read deal. We decided to go out no matter what. As we drove East, the sun broke out to reveal a beautiful day.

Picked up our stuff (Jeremy and me) and set up.

I wanted to warm up but before I got a chance, warm-ups were done and we had the meeting. They said no diving but everyone dove so I did to. Went out too fast but still felt ok. Caught up to Erik F. from Sunrise who surprised me by stopping and telling me to go. Last 25 meters and some Jerk cut in the wrong way. Got annoyed and proceeded to swim on top of him and I ended up swiping him. Got out to T1.

Great seeing my guys. Jessie has never been there straight from the start. Went out on the bike and thought had a decent time. Tried to push it but it was not happening. Not good on the bike at all.

Also, drank too much gatorade on the bike and felt bloated on the run.

Plan was to push the run hard. No matter what. The first mile I must have. Second mile started with a bad hill so slowed down a little.

Heard a lot of thunder on the run and knew it was coming. Just before the finish, it started raining badly.

All in all, not a great day. Sunrise did very well mostly. I came in 4th for age. Sucks - really wanted to do well.

Before the swim, I was telling some guy that you should always swim with your goggles in your swim cap. Reason is in case you get punched or kicked. Guy later told me he dove kinda weird, and lost goggles. Should have listened to me. Ended up holding goggles for the first 25 then tried to put in but with all the stress couldn't. Had a bad swim. Still came in 2nd for age group and helped to edge me out of contention.
