Armed Forces Series Challenge
So there's a new challenge for me to try to accomplish. It's basically doing these 5 events. You don't need to do them in a specific year or any time frame really. You just need to do them.
In no specific order, here they are:
Since the challenge started in 2024, any races that were done previously, DO NOT COUNT. That kinda sucks...
Air Force Marathon
September - Ohio. I already did it. Doesn't count. I'll need to do it again. I already have Ohio obviously but they do have cool flyovers so will need to go back. I'll end up doing the "FLY! FIGHT! WIN! CHALLENGES (5K/10K/26.2)".
Army Ten-Miler
October - DC. I have now driven to DC too many times. It really sucks. To do it for a measly 10 miles is gonna suck way more and I really thought I was done with that drive BUT 1 more time...
Coast Guard Marathon
April - North Carolina. I already have North Carolina but it is what it is. Thankfully, I discovered that I don't have to fly. (Once again trying not to fly to save money). It's only a 7 hour drive. Easy stuff. Doing it this year (2026). Jamey and Wilton signed up too. I signed up for the "Semper Paratus Challenge (5K/26.2)". They missed the opportunity. They are also going to do the 5K and the Full but I will be official and get a special coin. They won't be official. It's going to be Wiltons first full...
Marine Corps
October - Virginia. In 2025, I did it. It was interesting. I ended up doing the "Semper Fidelis Challenge". I didn't mind it that much actually. I did the challenge AND it was the 50th running of the MCM and I knew they would make a bigger affair of it then usual AND up until now, I have only done the 50K (twice) and I always thought that the Marathon medal was nicer than the 50K. I was not wrong. Bottom line - It's done!
Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler
December - Florida. Eventually I'll do this one too. Silly to travel to Florida for 10 miles but hopefully will marry it into something else too.
